Volunteering with alberta weightlifting

Competitions are only made possible with the people who volunteer their time. If you’ve volunteered with us before, we are extremely grateful for your time and we hope you will continue volunteering.

If you’re interested in volunteering, there are many different ways you can offer your time.

Some of the main volunteer roles are outlined below. Check out our Event Page for upcoming competitions you can volunteer at!

Volunteer positions that don’t require certification:

  • Equipment set up (typically the night before a competition)

  • Competition bar loading (“Loaders”) during a competition

    • Scroll down to watch a short video on weight loading at the Olympics

    • Scroll down on this page for more information about Loader duties

  • Equipment take down (usually starts right after the last session has received their medals)

Volunteer positions that require a brief certification:

  • Technical Official
