·      Club must be affiliated with the AWA

·      Two members from each club, must be recommended by the club

·      Attendees should be familiar with the IWF TCRR and ideally have taken the level 4 TO clinic

·      Attendees should bring a laptop to work through examples

Technical Officials Level 4 Clinic

Content:

·      Clinic is the theory component of obtaining Technical Official Level 4

·      Clinic presented as seminar with written test

·      Following clinic, participants expected to complete practical component of TO level 4 which requires volunteering as an official at level 4 competitions

·      Assessment for TO level 4 once all requirements met

Farmstrong Athletics Bull Pen Championship Series

The Bull Pen Championship Series 2018 is an Olympic Weightlifting contests series, for youth and junior athletes, ranging from ages 9 to 20 years of age.

The goal of this series is to encourage young athletes to try the sport of Weightlifting, and provide more competitions for existing junior and youth athletes to compete against their peers.

Competition Introduction NCCP Weightlifting Clinic

The purpose of the clinic is to develop the coaching skills to become a weightlifting coach. 

In order to start the training process to become certified, the individual will need to participate in three modules:

1.  Analyze Performance - understanding error detection and corrections for technical skills of the weightlifter
2.  Support the Athletes in Training - understanding of what is needed to develop a safe and organized practice plan for a weightlifter
3.  Support the Competitive Experience - understanding of how a competition is organized and how to assist your weightlifter through their competition   

Date: August 6 & 7
Time: 9:00 - 5:00
Cost: $300 + GST
Location: Peak Power Sport Development Training Facility (SAIT Campus)

N.C.C.P. STAGE I COMPETITION STREAM FOR OLYMPIC STYLE WEIGHTLIFTING

April 30th & May 1st – 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.   

 This is an N.C.C.P. Stage I Competition Stream course for anyone interested in teaching the Olympic Weightlifting movements. Participant will learning the Olympic movements by taking part in actual training and assistance exercises, so dress appropriately and bring a notebook. Registration includes the cost of the manuals, workbook and an Alberta Weightlifting Association associate membership (for non-members).

Registration deadline is April 20, 2016.  A maximum of twelve participants will be allowed in this course to ensure adequate equipment and hands on instruction.
